We inquire about: How did the integration of Perfion and Infor go for our customer Maincor?
ESYON: Mr. Pfister, please introduce yourself and your company at the beginning.
M. Pfister: Certainly. My name is Michael Pfister, and since January 2014, I have been one of the Managing Directors of MAINCOR Rohrsysteme GmbH & Co. KG in Schweinfurt. Our company is divided into two business areas: pipe systems for building technology, including heating and sanitation, as well as pipe systems for industrial applications. At our location in Knetzgau, we produce plastic pipes for various industries. Our range includes pipes for automotive and white goods industries, heating and sanitation, and plastic surface finishing.
ESYON: In November 2020, the new Maincor shop went live. What motivated you to approach ESYON with the project?
M. Pfister: As a manufacturer of heating and ventilation pipes, we were looking for a new e-commerce solution. The primary goal was to integrate the Maincor shop deeply into both the merchandise management and the Product Information Management (PIM) system. Since ESYON has expertise in the PIM field and combines it with OXID eShop competencies, we decided to collaborate and complemented it with our knowledge of Infor.
ESYON: Let's take a closer look at the implementation of the Maincor shop. How were the project's defined goals achieved?
M. Pfister: Our e-commerce platform was developed using OXID eShop. The infor system was integrated with the webshop for merchandise management. For Product Information Management, we used Perfion PIM. The Maincor shop adopted and expanded a range of existing features, including our own rewards system called "Atze-Taler," where regular customers can receive great reward products. The features also include an IDS interface, a field sales employee portal, and various calculators, such as for laying underfloor heating. Professional craftsmen can create quotes for their end customers via mass exports. Additionally, the project also advanced our shop's internationalization: We created a shop for Austria and now offer our customers an English language version. Rolling out further country-specific shops in the future is now also possible.
ESYON: Your shop uses the new OXID eShop app. Could you tell us about it?
M. Pfister: Yes, the app was initially developed by ESYON for the Maincor shop before it became a white-label solution known as the OXID eShop app. With our Maincor app, we offer our customers a mobile solution for our shop, which they can download directly from the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store. Of course, our online shop also has a responsive design, but the mobile app offers many advantages, such as using the barcode scanner to add products to the shopping cart. This also works offline, directly from the construction site. The app is fully integrated with the webshop and does not require separate content filling. The whole system is also cross-platform: Shopping carts created on mobile phones can be ordered via desktop and vice versa.
ESYON: Now you have already mentioned some advantages. What do you see as the added value for your customers and your company?
M. Pfister: One thing I already mentioned is that our customers can place orders for their customers through us, which I consider an important convenience feature. Additionally, our employees can access existing customer projects at any time, which improves support. Our own work is mainly simplified by Perfion PIM. Product information, such as texts in different languages, images, documents, and related categories, is maintained once in Perfion and then automatically synchronized with the webshop.
ESYON: Mr. Pfister, thank you very much for the insightful look into your company and the project. We are looking forward to further collaboration and the many exciting projects to come!
